Day 2
This morning I was still in bed at "shot time" so Bill came in armed with the Needle of Lupron. Seemed to be a bit more relaxing to be laying down during the shot....I guess this is the life of Reily. I worked out on the statinoary bike today...it felt good! I feel a bit like a fat slob after a week of holiday eating and drinking. Speaking of drinking I am not aloud to anymore.

We are on our way!
Today was the first of many shots that will take place of the next month or so. Today's flavor was Lupron. Bill was very organized and completed the first one like an expert. Any expert, has to have practice so he did that yesterday. We sat down with our nurse, a bunch of needles and a fake belly...seriously! It was a skin colored squishy pad, on a waist band. Bill practiced with varring sizes of needles and he actually learned how to mix up some of the drugs, as they have to be contstitued with liquid from their powder format. Our first shot today fortuantly had a short needle, as it is meant to only stay in the fatty layer of skin. Which of course, I only have a thin layer of fat (I wish!). Lupron stops the Pituitary gland from sending hormones to my ovaries to mature a follicle, this is the house containing the egg. Tonight I will take a pill to prevent excess secretion of male hormones from my adrenal gland (weird, since I am 100% girl!) and I will also take another shot of Lupron. I think the shots will be a piece of cake, anything is better then taking the Birth Control Pill for 13 days. This does seem like a weird thing to take when we are actually trying to GET pregnatn. The purpose the Pill is to stop all female reproductive functioning as my body does on its own each month. Plus the Pill was a full proof provider of grumpiness, menstrual cramps and a culprit for a second period all in less then a 3 week time frame.
I am really excited to be on my way, and I know I am not the only one, Bill is ecstatic, as are grandparents to be, and all our supportive friends and family.
